Asia Cup 2023 expected in Pakistan with India Playing on Neutral Venue: Report

Asia Cup 2023 is expected to be held in Pakistan this year with India playing their matches on a neutral venue.

As per sources, PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) and BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) are looking forward for a midway to save the Asian event this year.

India would play their matches on neutral venue. While, Pakistan will face opponents on the same venue. India and Pakistan facing eachother 3 times are still possible. However, the remaining matches expected to be held in Pakistan.

Pakistan & India are in the same group with a qualifying team. Whereas, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are in another group.

UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka and England are under discussion as a neutral venue for hosting India matches.

Recently, as per reports Asian Cricket Council (ACC) members are in favour of hosting tournament’s one part outside Pakistan which will feature Indian team.

PCB representatives, under the leadership of Najam Sethi, met BCCI team comprised its secretary Jay Shah and Arun Dhumal, the IPL governing council chairman, for an informal discussion on the sidelines of ICC huddle held in Dubai.

It is pertinent to mention that the two boards failed to reach a conclusion mid-March in Bahrain at the ACC meeting.
