As per the official sources, Durdana Ansari- who is the maternal aunt of our famous ‘ghalat fehmi’ song singer Asim Azhar, had become the first Muslim woman captain in the British Royal navy.
The famous singer took to his twitter handle and made the appreciation announcement tweet for his aunt.
“Today is a proud moment for not just me or my family, but for the whole nation, Durdana Ansari OBE becomes the first Muslim and Pakistani female in the world to get ranked as a captain of the British Royal Navy approved by the Queen herself, I am proud of you khala Jaan” he said.
While his aunt tweeted back on replying to him as “I feel humbled beta Asim to receive this honour. I’ve been extremely blessed with the prayers of my parents, Allah Talaa, and the massive support by the Sea Lord, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2nd & most importantly our nation, the real people who believe in us, I’m proud of you.” She said.
Durdana Ansari was also ex- BBC current affairs producer and was earlier awarded an OBE by the queen & been promoted on July 8. Take Up to social media to respectfully tackle the celebrations & congratulations led her way. She expressed gratitude to her nephew for the nice words.
