Graduate Research Scholarship
The scholarship is offered to high-achieving students applying for master’s by research or PhD. The award is granted to 600 students in all the study areas. No separate applications are required, students are considered automatically however, you need to consult a supervisor before.
Scholarship Value
The scholarship provides full tuition fee waiver and a yearly living allowance of $34,400 for 2 years in case of Master by Research degree and for up to 3.5/4 years for Doctoral studies.
The living allowance includes limited paid sick as well as maternity/paternity leave and can be indexed. A relocation grant of $2,000 is also allocated for students coming from States or Territories other than Victoria and a $3,000 allowance for students coming from outside of Australia.
In addition, an overseas student health cover (OSHC) single membership will be provided to international students.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria are mentioned below.
- Students must meet the entry requirements for a graduate research course and have applied for the course as well.
- English language proficiency certificate.
- Your bachelor’s degree in case of master’s and MS/MPhil degree in case of PhD.
- Passport or an ID Card.
- Students must also seek acceptance prior to applying from a supervisor.
The applications are scored and ranked as per the grades of the previous degree, recommendations letters, motivation letter, and other factors.

- Apply for the course before the deadline and pay the non-refundable fee.
- The students will be considered automatically for the scholarship award and will be notified within 10 business days that a scholarship offer has been added to your account.
