Many Pakistani tourists dream of visiting Austria to enjoy its breathtaking mountains, historic sites, and rich culture. But in 2025, a big challenge for Pakistani applicants is meeting the strict financial requirements for the Austria Schengen visa.
Reports show that most visa rejections happen because people fail to show clear proof that they have enough money to cover their trip. Austrian officials want to make sure visitors can handle their daily expenses without any problems.
To avoid rejection, Pakistani travelers must prepare a proper bank statement. This statement must cover the last six months and can be from either a savings or current account. It should also clearly show the bank’s contact details and address.
While there’s no official minimum balance, travelers are expected to have enough money to spend around €100–€120 each day during their stay. For those planning a full 90-day trip, that means having around €9,000–€10,800, which is about Rs. 3–4 million at the current exchange rate.
Besides financial proof, applicants need a valid passport, travel insurance worth €30,000, proof of where they will stay, confirmed flight bookings, and proof of income or job status.
The Austrian Embassy has partnered with VFS Global to handle visa applications in Pakistan. Applicants must visit VFS centers in Islamabad, Lahore, or Karachi for document checks and biometrics. The total fee for an Austria Schengen visa in 2025 is Rs. 22,560, which includes both the visa fee and the VFS service charge.
Processing can take 10 to 28 days, so travelers should apply early and make sure their paperwork, especially their bank statement, meets all the standards to avoid disappointment and enjoy their Austrian adventure smoothly.
