Babar Azam has become the world’s fastest batsman to score thirteen ODI centuries, completing the feat in just 76 innings. Hashim Amla, a former South African batsman, was the previous fastest to the milestone, scoring thirteen centuries in 83 innings.
Virat Kohli, Indian skipper, and Quinton De Kock, South African wicket-keeper batsman, took 86 innings to score their 13th ODI century.
Pakistan won the first ODI against the Proteas thanks to Azam’s magnificent innings of 103 off 104 balls, placing them in a good position to win the series. Babar scored his second century as an ODI captain, the first coming against Zimbabwe in Rawalpindi.
