Mohammad Hafeez Criticizes Babar Azam After Pakistan’s Defeat Against India
Former cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has strongly criticized Babar Azam following Pakistan’s six-wicket loss to India in the Champions Trophy. Hafeez praised Virat Kohli, calling him the “true king” of cricket due to his consistent performances and global dominance.
Hafeez questioned Babar’s ability to perform in high-pressure matches, especially against strong teams like India. He challenged Babar’s supporters to name a single instance where he won a Player of the Match award against India, suggesting that Pakistan’s captain has struggled in crucial moments.
Comparing him to past cricketing greats like Shoaib Akhtar and Younis Khan, Hafeez pointed out that these players delivered match-winning performances when the team needed them most. In contrast, he believes Babar has not yet proven himself in such situations.
Hafeez also highlighted Babar’s difficulties in playing in tough overseas conditions. He stated that despite being Pakistan’s captain and leading batsman, Babar has yet to win a Test or ODI series in SENA countries—South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia—which are known for their challenging pitches and strong opposition.
As Pakistan moves forward in the tournament, they now face Bangladesh in a must-win match. With the team’s qualification hopes on the line, all eyes will be on Babar Azam to see if he can respond to the criticism and lead his team to victory.
