According to former Pakistan cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq, he believes that the current captain Babar Azam has the potential to surpass all previous records in the sport. In an interview with The National, Misbah expressed his faith in Azam’s abilities, both as a captain and a cricketer.
Describing Azam as a remarkable player who excels in all three formats of the game, Misbah compared him to some of the greatest batsmen to come out of Pakistan, including Mohammad Yousuf, Inzamam ul Haq, Saeed Anwar, and Zaheer Abbas. He praised Azam’s technique, elegance in batting, and the runs he has scored, stating that he is one of the best batters in the world.
Misbah also highlighted Azam’s work ethic and dedication, stating that if he continues to play cricket for the next eight to ten years, he could achieve a level of success similar to that of Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli. He commended Azam’s ability to analyze the game, handle pressure, and his commitment to practicing and perfecting his skills.
