Back-to-Back Defeats! Pakistan Loses 2nd T201 Against New Zealand

New Zealand once again proved too strong for Pakistan, winning the second T20I by five wickets. With this victory, they now lead the series 2-0.

The match was shortened to 15 overs per side due to rain. Pakistan, after being sent in to bat first, struggled to build momentum. Opener Hasan Nawaz was dismissed for a duck for the second consecutive game, putting pressure on the team early.

However, captain Salman Agha fought back, scoring a quick 46 runs off 28 balls. Despite his efforts, Pakistan could only manage 135 runs in their 15 overs.

In response, New Zealand’s openers, Tim Seifert and Finn Allen, made the chase look easy with aggressive batting. Both players hit multiple sixes, giving their team a strong start. Their attacking approach helped New Zealand reach the target comfortably, securing the win with five wickets in hand.

Pakistan’s bowlers tried to make a comeback, but New Zealand remained in control throughout the chase. The Black Caps now have a firm grip on the series, needing just one more win to seal the five-match contest.

With two matches lost, Pakistan will need to make major improvements in the remaining games if they want to stay in the series. Their top order, especially Hasan Nawaz, will need to find form, while the bowlers must find ways to stop New Zealand’s aggressive batters.

The third T20I will be a must-win game for Pakistan as they fight to stay alive in the series.
