Bangladesh to Launch Direct Flights to Karachi

Bangladesh High Commissioner Iqbal Hussain Khan announced that Biman Bangladesh Airlines will soon start three direct flights every week to Karachi. These flights will use Indian airspace, which will make the route easier and faster.

Speaking in Islamabad, he explained that this new connection could help increase trade in the region. Products such as dates, pashmina, and other traditional goods may get better access to markets, which can support local businesses on both sides.

He also mentioned that Pakistani airlines will probably not fly to Dhaka for now because India has not opened its airspace for them. This makes two-way travel difficult and limits cooperation.

The High Commissioner stressed that South Asia has huge potential for trade and economic growth, but political tensions and weak transport links are holding the region back. He called for more cooperation and better connectivity so all countries can benefit.
