Air travel between Karachi and Lahore has increased sharply ahead of the Basant festival, causing airline ticket prices to jump to record levels.
Due to heavy demand and limited seats, airlines such as PIA and private carriers have raised fares significantly. One-way tickets are now selling for more than Rs. 68,000, making travel costly for many passengers.
The situation has been further intensified by the public holiday on February 5, as more people plan to travel to Lahore to attend Basant celebrations. At the same time, Pakistan Railways is facing pressure, with most trains already fully booked and unable to accommodate additional passengers.
As a result, travelers are struggling to find affordable and available transport options between the two major cities during the festive period.
