Big Move! Chinese Smartphone Maker Realme Set to Become an Oppo Subbrand

Chinese smartphone company Realme has announced that it will fully merge into Oppo and operate as its sub-brand. The decision is aimed at simplifying operations, sharing resources, and cutting overall costs.

Both Realme and Oppo already belong to the same parent company, BBK Electronics, but this move will bring them even closer. By integrating with Oppo, Realme expects to work more efficiently in key areas such as research and development, supply chain management, and product design.

Realme said the change will help it use Oppo’s larger infrastructure, technology, and experience to improve product quality and speed up innovation. Despite the integration, Realme will continue selling its own smartphones and serving its customers as usual.

The brand is especially popular in markets like Pakistan, India, Southeast Asia, and parts of Europe, where it has built a strong reputation for offering feature-rich phones at affordable prices. With Oppo’s support, Realme hopes to strengthen its position in these regions and expand further.

BBK Electronics, which also owns Vivo, remains one of the largest smartphone groups in the world. The closer partnership between Realme and Oppo highlights BBK’s strategy to stay competitive in the global smartphone market while reducing internal costs and overlap.
