Bilquis Edhi enlisted for prestigious ‘Person of Decade’ award

Impact Hallmarks has shortlisted renowned philanthropist and humanitarian, Bilquis Edhi among the top 20 individuals, artefacts, and works by an international organization, with far-reaching impacts in different fields and areas of human achievement.

She was shortlisted for the ‘Person of the Decade’ prestigious award, while Prof Yanghee Lee also appears to be another key contestant to highlight the Rohingya matter.

According to a statement released by the Directorate of the Edhi Foundation Pakistan and the SAARC-ASEAN Post-Doctoral Academy, an online opinion poll for a global audience is currently being conducted to vote for the “Person of the Decade,” based on the person’s impact value and importance.

She was awarded the 1986 Public Service Ramon Magsaysay Medal. The charity, which she runs, saved more than 42,000 unwanted babies up till now.

In Pakistan, Bilquis is the most active philanthropist, being the head of the Bilquis Edhi Foundation.

Bilquis was given the respected ‘Hilal-e-Imtiaz’ in recognition of her philanthropic projects and was the recipient of many other awards.
