Azhar Ali, the ex-captain of the Pakistan cricket team, said the main problem in Australia is not batting but bowling. He stressed the importance of getting 20 wickets to win Tests against Australia. In an interview in Karachi, Azhar Ali pointed out that Pakistani bowlers have struggled to take 20 wickets in Australia for a long time.
He mentioned that scoring 600 runs is unlikely, but the real challenge is dismissing Australia for a reasonable total. Azhar Ali highlighted the need for bowlers to step up for a successful comeback in the series.
Speaking about the Perth Test, he suggested that having an extra specialist bowler in the lineup could have benefited the team. Currently participating in the President’s Trophy, Azhar Ali expressed his goal of achieving his 50th first-class century. He clarified that he has no plans to reconsider his retirement decision, aiming to end his cricket career on a positive note.
