The figures show that a total of 762,499 people left Pakistan in search of employment during the year. This is an increase compared to 2024, when 727,381 Pakistanis went overseas for jobs. Among those who moved abroad in 2025 were 18,352 highly educated professionals, highlighting a continued outflow of skilled workers from the country.
The overseas workforce included people from many professions. These ranged from doctors, engineers, nurses, teachers, and accountants to technicians, drivers, managers, and a large number of skilled and unskilled labourers. This shows that Pakistanis from both professional and labour backgrounds are seeking better job opportunities outside the country.
Saudi Arabia remained the most popular destination for Pakistani workers. Other major destinations included the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait. In addition, smaller numbers of Pakistanis moved to countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, China, Japan, and Romania to find employment.
The data reflects the growing trend of Pakistanis going abroad for better wages, improved living standards, and more stable career opportunities.
