Former fast Pakistani bowler, Aqib Javed, amidst the news of Babar Azam to retain the captaincy, suggests Shaheen Afridi as the best option for World Cup 2024, T20I matches.
Aqib Javed stated that the conversation about Babar Azam’ captaincy started on wrong foots as no one can be better for ODI and Test matches than him. He further named Shaheen Afridi for being the captain for T20 World Cup 2024 as Shaheen’s previous captaincy for Lahore Qalandars brought 2 trophies home.
Aqib Javed believes that Shaheen can lead the team in T20 World Cup with fearless approach and his different mindset makes him suitable candidate. He further said that his performance in PSL reflects his defensive approach of curating dead pitches and his way of carrying the team.
Previously Aqib Javed negated the idea of having different captains, but now he is all in support of it.
