CDA Approves Electric Tram for Islamabad

Islamabad will soon have an electric tram service as part of the CDA’s plan for a cleaner and better transport system.

A meeting led by Muhammad Ali Randhawa approved a study to check how electric trams can run in the city, along with plans to improve the current bus system.

The new plan will have modern trams that are easy to use, smart ticketing, ads inside buses, and over 200 new digital bus stops.

Right now, the electric bus project already helps more than 90,000 people travel every day. Adding trams will make travel even easier and more eco-friendly for everyone.

The CDA says working with private companies and keeping the project financially stable are key parts of this plan. The goal is to make Islamabad’s transport system cleaner, smarter, and better for the people.
