CDA to turn off 50% Lights on Roads of Islamabad to Save Energy

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Friday decided to switch off 50 percent of the lights on city roads under the energy conservation plan introduced by the federal government.

However, all the street lights will remain switched on in residential areas for the maximum convenience of the citizens at night, said a CDA spokesperson.

The CDA is at the forefront of efforts to make the government’s austerity campaign to save energy successful. In this regard, the CDA has requested that the residents of the federal capital avoid the unnecessary use of electricity in their homes. Necessary measures should be taken to save maximum energy.
