Chairlift Wire Breaks Mid-Air, Leaving School Children Trapped 900 Feet Above Ground in Battagram, KP

In the Alai area of Tigram, a chairlift’s rope broke, leaving schoolteachers and children stuck for many hours. The person in charge of Hazara asked the caretaker government for a helicopter to help rescue them.

Early in the morning in Alai, near Bitgram in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two ropes that were holding up a chairlift with schoolteachers and 8 kids snapped. The lift stopped working and was tilted at a high point several hundred feet up.

The Commissioner of Hazara officially asked the caretaker government for a helicopter to help save the people who are stuck.
