Changan Oshan X7’s Engines Blast, Owner Claimed Warranty Denied by Sialkot’s Dealership

A Changan Oshan X7 owner has raised serious concerns after claiming that the engine of his 2023 model SUV suddenly exploded while he was driving with his family on the motorway. The vehicle, which has completed around 31,000 kilometres, had reportedly been maintained exclusively at authorised Changan service centres since the day it was purchased. According to the owner, the engine block burst without any warning, creating a highly dangerous situation and leaving the family shocked and distressed.

The situation worsened when the owner approached Stallion Changan Sialkot to file a warranty claim. He alleges that the dealership rejected the claim using multiple and contradictory explanations. Among the reasons he says he was given were that he was “driving too fast,” that his service was delayed, and that the vehicle had been driven in “deep water,” a claim he questioned by noting that the motorway route has no such conditions. The dealership also allegedly claimed that he had not performed all services with them, despite the owner stating that the complete service history was recorded in their own system. He further said that a warranty manager suggested the engine oil might not be original, even though all oil changes had been done through the dealership itself.

The owner also reported that he had been experiencing abnormal engine noises for three to four months and had made repeated complaints, which he says are logged in the system. However, he claimed the staff advised him not to mention these earlier reports when discussing the issue. He questioned why he should hide information that is already officially documented. Matters became more confusing when the dealership later informed him that a team from Changan’s head office had inspected the vehicle and concluded that water damage caused the engine failure. The owner disputes this claim, stating he was never informed of any inspection and insisting that such evaluations must be conducted transparently in the presence of the customer.

Feeling that the dealership acted negligently and provided inconsistent explanations, the owner has now filed a case in Consumer Court. He is taking legal action against Changan Pakistan, Stallion Changan Sialkot, and has also escalated the matter to Changan China, the main manufacturer. He stated that he is pursuing the case not only to address his own loss but also to raise awareness among other vehicle owners.

The incident has sparked discussion about consumer safety, manufacturer responsibility, and the importance of transparent warranty processes. The owner warns that in his experience, the vehicle proved unreliable and the after-sales service did not offer the support he expected. At the time of writing, Changan Pakistan and the dealership involved have not issued an official response to the allegations.
