Chawla Green Motors has launched a more affordable version of its electric vehicle, the Dongfeng Box EV, in Pakistan. The new variant, called the Smart 330, is priced at Rs. 5.5 million. This makes it around Rs. 900,000 cheaper than the earlier base model, which offered a longer driving range.
The Smart 330 comes with a range of up to 330 kilometers on a full charge. While it has a shorter range than the 430 km variants, it gives buyers a lower-cost option in the growing electric car market. The Dongfeng Box lineup in Pakistan now includes three variants: Smart 330, Lux 430, and Flagship 430.
This move shows that companies are trying to make electric vehicles more affordable for local buyers. Lower prices can help increase adoption, especially as fuel prices continue to rise.
At the same time, Capital Smart Motors has introduced the JMEV EV3, adding more competition in the entry-level EV segment. With more options available, Pakistan’s electric vehicle market is slowly expanding.
