Chery Pakistan, in association with Ghandhara Nissan Limited (GNL), recently commenced domestic manufacturing of the Tiggo 4 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro crossovers in Pakistan. As per sources, trial operation has already underway at the plant, and the first locally produced Chery unit is scheduled to roll off the assembly lines on March 24, 2022.
Chery reported last week that the body shop trials for its Tiggo series crossovers had been completed satisfactorily. Other experts and a technical team from GNL will carry out a full inspection of the Tiggo 4 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro, as well as several testing, at Chery’s production factory in Karachi.
Chery revealed the Tiggo-4 Pro and Tiggo-8 Pro crossovers in December 2021 at a conference. The Tiggo 4 Pro is a 5-seat crossover operated by Chery’s current version 1.5TCl engine, which develops 145 power and torque and 210 Nm of torque and is connected to a 9-speed CVT transmission. The 7-seat Tiggo 8 Pro is the lineup’s premium product, with a 1.6TGDl engine able to produce 195 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque and paired with a 7-speed DCT transmission.
