Chief Meteorologist Reveals the Reason Behind 7 Earthquakes in Karachi Within 24 Hours

Karachi experienced a surprising wave of earthquakes over the past 24 hours, leaving many residents alarmed. According to Chief Meteorologist Ameer Haider, the sudden activity is linked to movement along the Landi Fault a fault line located in the eastern outskirts of the city.

The tremors were felt in various areas including Landhi, Malir and even parts of Thana Bulla Khan. Fortunately, the earthquakes were of low magnitude and no injuries or structural damage have been reported so far.

Meteorologist Haider shared that this fault line has shown little activity in the past which makes the recent string of quakes unusual. He pointed out that the nearby Kirthar mountain region is where a major boundary line lies, but it has not historically triggered strong earthquakes in this zone.

“This is the first time in recent memory that Karachi has experienced such frequent seismic movement in a short span,” he said. He reassured the public that these tremors are not a sign of a major disaster but urged people to remain cautious.

Experts believe the fault may have become temporarily active due to natural pressure build-up within the Earth’s crust. However, the situation is expected to settle in the coming days.

Authorities are closely monitoring the region and have advised residents to follow basic safety precautions during any tremor.
