China has Unveiled the World’s First Underwater AI-Powered Data Center

China has introduced the world’s first underwater data center powered by artificial intelligence, and it is expected to be the first of many similar projects in the future.

This unique facility is located in Lingshui, a county in Hainan Province. It consists of a special module that houses 400 high-performance servers. Instead of using traditional cooling systems, these servers rely on the natural temperature of seawater to keep them from overheating.

The data center is operated by HiCloud and is capable of handling up to 7,000 DeepSeek queries every second. This high processing power allows it to support a wide range of advanced applications, including artificial intelligence training, industrial simulations, and marine research.

By placing data centers underwater, China is exploring innovative ways to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption while advancing cutting-edge technology.
