According to the Chinese foreign minister, China is investing more than $400 billion in almost 600 projects across the Muslim world as part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Wang Yi said Beijing has good ties with the Muslim world based on mutual respect and cooperation during a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign minister in Islamabad.
According to a transcript of Wang’s speech released by Pakistan’s Information Ministry, “China will continue to stand firmly on the side of the Palestinian people and support the convening of a more authoritative and representative international peace conference on the basis of the two-state solution in order to promote a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian issue.”
He said today that he “heard the call of many Islamic friends” over the long-standing dispute in Jammu and Kashmir, adding that Beijing “shares the same ambition.”
Regarding the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Wang stated that China supports Moscow-Kyiv peace talks.
