China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that Beijing does not accept any country behaving like a “judge for the whole world.” His statement came after the United States captured Venezuela’s President, Nicolas Maduro.
Wang Yi stressed that under international law, the sovereignty, independence, and security of every country must be respected and protected. He said no nation has the right to take actions that undermine another country’s leadership or interfere in its internal affairs.
President Nicolas Maduro was captured in New York and is currently waiting to appear in a US court on drug-related charges. China described this move by the United States as a “major blow” and expressed serious concern over its wider impact on international relations.
China believes such actions can increase global tensions and weaken trust between countries. Beijing has called for disputes to be handled through dialogue, mutual respect, and international legal frameworks, rather than unilateral actions.
