BYD, a Chinese car company, has become the world’s leading seller of electric vehicles, surpassing Tesla. They achieved this by offering many different electric car models at affordable prices and having a reliable battery and charging system in China. Now, they are venturing into the super luxury car market.
Their new ultra-luxury brand, named Yangwang, introduces three models: the U8 off-road vehicle, the U9 supercar, and the U7 luxury sedan. The U9 is priced around CNY 1,680,000 (approximately RM 1.1 million) in China. The U9 boasts impressive speed, accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.36 seconds and reaching a top speed of 309 km/h. This speed surpasses many well-known sports cars like Ferrari and Bugatti.
Equipped with four motors, one for each wheel, the U9 delivers a total power of 1,306 PS and 1,680 Nm of torque. It can travel up to 465 km on a single charge and charges rapidly from 30% to 80% in only 10 minutes. Additionally, the U9 features a unique suspension system that enables it to drive on three wheels, jump, or even dance.
In terms of appearance, the U9 boasts dynamic lines, butterfly doors, and distinctive headlights and tail lights. It rides on large 21-inch wheels fitted with high-performance tires and brakes. Inside the cabin, it offers a luxurious central console, a digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen display, ambient lighting, a premium sound system, and plush seating for ultimate comfort.
