The Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMA) have issued alerts for possible cloudbursts in different parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) due to expected heavy monsoon rains.
According to the warning, sudden and intense downpours could cause flash floods, urban flooding, and even landslides in certain regions. Officials highlighted that hilly areas and low-lying districts are at greater risk, making it important for residents to remain cautious.
To deal with the situation, emergency response teams have been put on high alert. They are ready to take action in case of any flooding or other emergencies.
The PDMA has also advised the public to stay away from riverbanks and avoid unnecessary travel, especially during the hours when heavy rains are predicted.
Authorities further stressed the importance of vigilance and community cooperation. They explained that early warnings can only be effective if people follow the safety guidelines and stay prepared to evacuate if required.
In risky areas, residents are urged to keep essential supplies ready, such as food, clean water, medicines, and important documents, in case they need to move quickly.
The PDMA emphasized that strict monitoring of rivers, streams, and vulnerable roads is already underway. Rescue teams, equipment, and resources have been stationed in key areas to ensure quick relief operations if needed.
Officials assured that the government is fully prepared to respond, but reducing the risks also depends on how responsibly communities act. By following safety measures and cooperating with rescue workers, lives and property can be better protected during this challenging monsoon spell.
