CM Maryam Nawaz Announces Rs10,000 Bonus for Sanitation Workers After Eid Clean up Success

During Eid-ul-Azha 2025, sanitation workers across the Lahore Division carried out one of the largest cleanliness operations in Punjab’s history. In just 72 hours, they successfully removed around 89,000 tonnes of animal waste from streets, neighborhoods, and villages. This massive effort ensured that cities and rural areas remained clean and hygienic during the festive season.

To show appreciation for their hard work and dedication, especially in the extreme summer heat, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced a special bonus of Rs. 10,000 for each sanitation worker involved in the campaign.

Out of the total waste collected, the city of Lahore alone managed to clear 54,888 tonnes. The remaining waste was efficiently handled by teams working in the districts of Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Nankana Sahib.

Commissioner Zaid bin Maqsood praised the teams for their smooth and effective execution of the operation, stating that there were no major complaints or issues during the cleanup drive. He also highlighted the workers’ commitment to maintaining a clean environment in both urban and rural areas, despite the challenging weather conditions.
