CM Maryam Nawaz has Not launched a Rs. 5000 Eidi Scheme

A fraudulent online campaign falsely claiming to offer a “Maryam Nawaz Eidi Scheme” with a payment of Rs. 5,000 has been exposed, raising serious concerns ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. The scam, which has been widely circulated on social media platforms and messaging apps like WhatsApp, attempts to lure citizens by promising easy financial assistance. It misleadingly states that individuals aged 12 and above are eligible to receive funds through popular mobile wallet services such as Easypaisa and JazzCash.

Cybersecurity experts have warned that the website associated with this scheme is fake and designed to collect sensitive personal information. Victims are often asked to provide details such as CNIC numbers, phone numbers, and financial credentials, which can then be misused for identity theft or unauthorized financial transactions. Authorities have emphasized that such scams tend to increase during festive seasons, as fraudsters take advantage of heightened public interest in relief programs and giveaways.

Officials have strongly advised citizens to remain cautious and verify any such offers through official government sources before taking action. The public is urged to avoid clicking on suspicious links, sharing personal information online, or trusting unverified schemes circulating on social media. By staying vigilant and relying only on authentic channels, individuals can protect themselves from falling victim to online fraud and financial exploitation.
