CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Breaks Fast in Kot Lakhpat Jail with Prisoners

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz displayed a remarkable gesture of empathy and solidarity by visiting the Central Jail Lahore in Kot Lakhpat on a Sunday. This visit held particular significance as it was the same facility where she had previously been imprisoned.

During her time at the prison, Maryam Nawaz decided to break her fast with the inmates, marking a personal connection with them and expressing her support.

This act not only demonstrated her compassion but also served as a symbolic gesture of understanding and camaraderie with those facing incarceration.

In addition to sharing the Iftar meal with the inmates, Maryam Nawaz extended practical assistance to them by offering gifts, clothing, and monetary aid totaling Rs15,000. These gestures aimed to provide tangible support and comfort to the individuals confined within the prison walls.

A video shared by Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb provided a glimpse into Maryam Nawaz’s visit, showcasing her interactions with both the prison officials and the inmates. The arrangement of the Iftar menu, which included a variety of traditional delicacies such as Biryani, samosas, pakoras, and fruits, reflected Maryam Nawaz’s attention to detail and consideration for the inmates’ comfort during the holy month of Ramadan. This thoughtful gesture aimed to ensure that the inmates could enjoy a wholesome and satisfying meal to break their fast.
