India A suffered a heartbreaking exit from the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 after losing to Bangladesh A in a dramatic Super Over finish in Doha on Friday.
The match ended in a tie with both teams scoring 194 for 6 in their 20 overs, forcing a Super Over to decide the winner. Bangladesh A’s opening batter Habibur Rahman scored 65 runs off 46 balls, while SM Meherob played an explosive innings of 48 not out from just 18 balls.
India A started their chase strongly with young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi hitting a quick 38 off 15 balls. Priyansh Arya contributed 44 runs, and the team seemed in control for most of the chase. However, they struggled in the final overs and needed four runs from the last ball.
Bangladesh captain Akbar Ali made a critical fielding error when he missed a run-out throw at the stumps, allowing India to steal a third run and tie the match.
In the Super Over, things went terribly wrong for India. Ripon Mondol delivered brilliant bowling, dismissing both Jitesh Sharma and Ashutosh Sharma on consecutive balls without India scoring a single run. This meant Bangladesh needed just one run to win.
India’s Suyash Sharma took a wicket on the first ball, but then bowled a wide on the next delivery, giving Bangladesh the victory.
Bangladesh A will now face the winner of the second semi-final between Pakistan A and Sri Lanka A in the final.
