Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated the Ministry of Communication and the National Highway Authority (NHA) on Thursday for saving the government money through transparency and digitization and achieving a 138 percent reduction in the cost of constructing a four-lane highway when compared to the previous PML-N administration.
In a tweet, Imran Khan listed the government’s accomplishments as a 125 percent rise in revenue and the release of land worth Rs. 5.18 billion from encroachment.
“All of this was accomplished in the face of global price increases and inflation,” he noted.
In his tweet, the Prime Minister also published data showing that the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) administration spent Rs. 172 million on the construction of the 4-Lane Highway, compared to Rs. 411 million spent by the PML-N government (2013-18), a savings of 138 percent.
