Elon Musk recently announced that Tesla’s Cybertruck would soon be equipped with a modification allowing it to traverse at least 100 meters of water like a boat.
Musk shared this future feature in response to a post by another user.
The idea was sparked by a video clip from “Jay Leno’s Garage,” where Lars Moravy, Tesla’s VP of vehicle engineering, mentioned that the Cybertruck could be modified to function as a boat.
Moravy suggested that with a bit of extra buoyancy, the Cybertruck almost floats, and creative users could even attach an outboard motor to go boating.
Despite the Cybertruck’s initial reveal in 2019, deliveries only started in late November, and its unique design has garnered both admiration and criticism.
Musk acknowledged potential challenges during Tesla’s recent earnings calls in October.
