Damaged Roads? Here’s How to Report Them for Quick Repairs in Karachi

Karachi’s residents often complain about broken and uneven roads, but now they have a direct way to get these problems fixed. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has started a road repair drive across multiple districts, allowing citizens to connect straight with the engineers in charge.

How the plan works

Instead of waiting for long complaint procedures, people can now call the engineers or contractors handling projects in their areas. This step has been introduced to keep the process open and to make sure public money is being used properly.

Where the repairs are happening

The repair projects cover areas in District South, District Central, District East, and District Malir. Each project has its own team and contractor, with funds set aside for smooth execution.

  • Malir: Residents can report road issues to engineer Feroz Hassan (0321-3842502). The contractor responsible here is SMS Enterprises, with Rs 150 million allocated.
  • Central: Two engineers are supervising. Citizens can reach engineer Syed Zaheer Abbas (0300-9227653) for one project managed by Shamsuddin Mandokhail. Another project is led by engineer Muhammad Ali Shah (0314-7150055) with EPI Construction & Engineering, both worth Rs 150 million each.
  • East: Complaints can also be made to engineer Muhammad Ali Shah (0314-7150055), with Goodwill Associates handling work worth Rs 150 million.

Direct contact with the Mayor

If complaints are not resolved through engineers, residents have the option to escalate the issue. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab can be contacted directly via WhatsApp at 0321-1242490 or through the official KMC website (www.kmc.gos.pk).

KMC has emphasized that people’s involvement is crucial. By contacting the officials, residents are not only reporting damaged roads but also monitoring how the funds are used. This approach aims to make the city’s road network safer and reduce long-standing complaints about poor infrastructure.
