DG ISPR Rejects Rumors of Field Marshal Asim Munir Becoming President

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has strongly denied recent rumors claiming that Field Marshal Asim Munir will become Pakistan’s president. He described these claims as “completely baseless” and without any truth.

Speaking in an exclusive interview, Lt. Gen. Chaudhry dismissed the speculation that had spread after the “Battle of Truth” event. He also rejected the political analyses being linked to the rumors, saying there was no factual basis for such discussions.

The DG ISPR emphasized that such false stories create unnecessary confusion and should not be taken seriously. He urged the public to rely only on verified information from credible sources rather than unconfirmed social media posts or political gossip.

This is not the first time these rumors have been addressed. Last month, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also criticized the spread of such claims, calling them harmful and misleading. He stressed that spreading false information about key state positions can damage public trust and create instability.

Officials say that rumors like these not only mislead the public but can also affect the country’s political environment. They have urged citizens and media outlets to act responsibly when sharing news or political updates.

The statements from both the DG ISPR and the Interior Minister aim to put an end to the speculation and clarify that there are no such plans or decisions in place. The focus, they added, should remain on verified facts rather than unsubstantiated claims.
