The Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA) has set some new terms and conditions for individuals and companies involved in the renting of jet skis and water crafts for water sports.
They are asked to install proper tracking and remote control devices under Curriculum No. 13 of the year 2023. This notification was issued on May 11, 2023, which not only highlighted the safety protocols but also asked companies to program jet skis by restricted speed zones.
The executive director, Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa al Makhtom of DMA, stated that
“We are interested in developing the industry and are looking forward to regulating, coordinating, and supervising all aspects of the emirates’ maritime sectors”.
All companies are directed to comply with the new requirements before October 31st, 2023.
