Dubai Announces New Student Visas, Scholarships, Jobs for 90% of Graduates

Dubai has announced big changes to improve its education system and help graduates find better job opportunities. These reforms are part of a wider strategy to prepare the city for 2030 and beyond, aligning with global trends in innovation, sustainability and economic growth.

At the heart of the new plans are upgraded student visa options, international scholarships and a strong focus on graduate employment. Authorities are aiming to ensure that at least 90% of students in Dubai find suitable jobs within six months of completing their education.

To make this happen, the government is improving visa rules for students and fresh graduates. New work visas will help graduates stay in Dubai after finishing their studies, making it easier to find employment or start a business. Scholarships will also be expanded, allowing students from around the world to access quality education in Dubai.

Currently, 37 foreign universities operate in the city. The goal is to increase this number to over 70 by 2033, including institutions ranked among the world’s top 200. This move is expected to boost Dubai’s economy by over Dh5.6 billion, according to government estimates.

In addition to supporting students, Dubai is also focusing on the environment and infrastructure. A new clean air strategy will aim to reduce pollution levels by 2030, while a planned international mediation centre will enhance the city’s global legal reputation.

All of these efforts are part of Dubai’s larger vision to become a global hub for education, business, and innovation welcoming students, professionals and investors from across the world.
