Dubai has launched a special 10-year Golden Residency Visa for gaming professionals as part of its efforts to become a global hub for digital entertainment. The initiative comes under the Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033 (DPG33), introduced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
Gamers, developers, designers, animators, and others in the video game industry can now apply for this long-term visa under the “Culture and Arts” category. The visa allows them to live and work in Dubai while contributing to the city’s rapidly growing esports and gaming scene.
To qualify, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Be at least 25 years old.
- Submit their application personally (not through companies or agencies).
- First apply for an Accreditation Certificate from Dubai Culture before applying for the Golden Visa.
- Approval from Dubai Culture is not the final step—further approvals from other authorities are also required.
How to Apply for the Dubai Gaming Visa
The application starts with obtaining the Accreditation Certificate through the official website: dubaigaming.gov.ae.

- Passport copy (with UAE residence permit and ID card, if available)
- Professional CV
- Portfolio showcasing work in the gaming industry over the past five years
- Cover letter
- Employment and academic certificates (if any)
- Proof of local or international memberships (if available)
Application Steps:
- Fill Out Personal Information:
- Name, nationality, passport details, education, job title, and contact information.
- Choose your field within gaming: game producer, designer, developer, educator, animator or involved in publishing.
- Provide Career Details:
- Years of experience, number of projects, academic qualifications and any global participation or recognition.
- Upload Required Documents:
- All mentioned above including social media or professional links.
- Submit Your Application:
- Once submitted, applicants will receive an email notification about their status.
After receiving the Accreditation Certificate, applicants can move forward with the Golden Visa process.
