Dust Thunderstorm & Rain Expected in Karachi Today

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in different areas of Karachi today. The weather in the city is expected to be humid and partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging between 36°C and 38°C. Humidity levels are likely to remain high at around 73%.

According to PMD, a pre-monsoon weather system is currently affecting the eastern parts of Sindh, while a separate westerly wave is bringing changes to weather patterns in other parts of the country. As a result, different regions of Pakistan—including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan—are experiencing dust storms, rainfall, and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the ongoing heatwave continues to impact southern areas of the country. Extremely high temperatures have been recorded in cities like Turbat and Pasni, both reaching up to 49°C. The PMD has advised the public to take extra care during this period by staying hydrated and avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours to prevent heatstroke and dehydration.

The department also warns that during spells of heavy rainfall and strong winds, people should try to stay indoors for their own safety. There may be dangers such as lightning, flying debris, and falling branches or signboards, especially in open or exposed areas.
