Shafqat Mehmood, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, said Wednesday that the future of education was in technology and the Ed-Tech had brought innovation in the learning process.
He said that Ed-Tech would be a central pillar of Pakistan’s Education Policy – 2021, chairing a virtual meeting with owners of the Ed-Tech Industry.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss Pakistan’s 2021 Education Policy and the use of technology for this purpose.
The Minister said that we should use Ed-Tech to make learning holistic, fun, integrated and to build an education environment that would make students well-learned and efficient.
He said the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training would launch a $200 million project in partnership with the World Bank for the production of online content, and it would also help grow Pakistan’s Ed-Tech Industry.
He said the Ministry would also take an initiative to train teachers to follow the latest technology and methodologies for learning.
He further stated that the ministry would also perform a reassessment study to gauge the gap before and after the technical intervention in education.
He said that through Ed Tech solutions, we would try to deal with the problems of out-of-school students, equity, learning poverty. The minister added that it was time to introduce classrooms into our homes.
