The UAE government has extended the duration of holidays for federal government employees during Eid Al-Fitr 2024, granting a full week off. This announcement, made by the UAE Cabinet, outlines that the holidays will commence from Monday, April 8 and continue until Sunday, April 14.
Work is scheduled to resume on Monday, April 15. Initially, it was anticipated that there would only be a four-day break for this public holiday.
Eid Al-Fitr, also referred to as the ‘Holiday of Breaking the Fast’, signifies the culmination of Ramadan, which commenced on Monday, March 11 in Dubai. Following Eid Al-Fitr, the subsequent public holiday in 2024 will be Eid Al-Adha, anticipated to span a four-day weekend.
