Elon Musk’s Starlink Gets NOC to Launch Internet Service in Pakistan

Pakistan is preparing to enter a new era of satellite internet as Starlink has received official approval to launch its services in the country. The Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) after receiving clearance from the Interior Ministry.

The next step in the process is for the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to issue a license, which is expected to happen within two weeks. Once Starlink becomes operational, it will provide high-speed internet access to remote and underserved areas, helping to bridge the digital divide.

The company has already completed important registration requirements with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). This development aligns with Pakistan’s National Satellite Policy 2023 and the recently introduced Space Activities Rules 2024, aiming to boost technological advancements and improve internet accessibility across the country.
