Elon Musk’s Starlink Satellites Disrupted by Severe Solar Storm

Starlink, a company owned by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, warned people about a “weakened service” on Saturday because the Earth was experiencing a big geomagnetic storm, caused by activity on the sun.

Starlink has a lot of satellites in space – about 60% of all the satellites orbiting Earth. These satellites help provide internet service from space.

Elon Musk, who owns SpaceX, said on X that the Starlink satellites were feeling a lot of pressure from the storm, but they were doing okay for now.

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said that this storm is the biggest one since October 2003. They also said that it might continue for the whole weekend, which could cause problems for things like navigation, power grids, and satellite systems.
