Ex-employees have exposed Facebook for deliberately enabling anti-Muslim propaganda in India

Frances Haugen, a former Facebook product manager, has been identified as the source of tens of thousands of pages of leaked internal company research, which she claims show that the company has been negligent in removing violence, misinformation, and other harmful content from its services, and that it has misled investors about its efforts.

The document leak and public revelation of the source constitutes possibly the most serious problem in Facebook’s history, severely eroding relations between the corporation and Washington politicians.

Members of Congress are investigating the firm’s role in the Jan. 6 violence at the United States Capitol, and the company is responding to document requests.

According to whistleblower and former Facebook employee Frances Haugen, Facebook was always aware of all the incendiary anti-Muslim propaganda posted on its platforms in India by members of right-wing Hindu nationalists, but chose to ignore it.
