Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram to Slow Down in Pakistan, PTCL

Meta has announced that it will carry out a long maintenance activity from 1 AM on 11 December until 1 PM on 12 December, and this is expected to affect the performance of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and other Meta services.

During this period, users might notice that their apps load slowly, messages take longer than usual to send, or the services stop working for short intervals. These issues are expected because Meta will be working on its backend systems, updating and improving them.

PTCL has also issued a public notice to inform its customers about the situation. The company said that people may experience problems even if their internet connection is working perfectly.

PTCL explained that these disruptions are not caused by any issue on their network. Instead, the disturbance will occur because Meta’s platforms will be undergoing internal upgrades. PTCL advised its customers to be prepared for unusual app behavior and not to worry if they face delays or interruptions.

According to the notice, the 36-hour maintenance window is part of Meta’s long-term plan to make its services more reliable and faster in the future. These kinds of updates are necessary to support millions of users around the world and to ensure that the platforms can handle increasing data and new features.

Users are encouraged to stay patient while the work is being completed. Once the maintenance ends, Meta’s apps are expected to return to normal performance. Although the temporary inconvenience may frustrate some users, the upgrade aims to improve the overall experience in the long run.
