In a significant step toward advancing agricultural growth and financial inclusion, Fauree, a leading fintech and agri-digital platform, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX). The agreement aims to establish a fully digital value chain system that connects farmers, buyers, and sellers across Ghana, paving the way for greater transparency, traceability, and efficiency in commodity trading.
Through this collaboration, Fauree will integrate its digital infrastructure with GCX’s existing trading framework, enabling farmers to access real-time market information, digital credit scoring, and financing opportunities. This initiative is designed to help smallholder farmers expand their businesses, gain fair value for their produce, and participate more actively in the formal market.
Speaking at the signing ceremony in Accra, Mr. Samson Deen, Managing Partner of Fauree, highlighted the importance of this collaboration:
“This partnership with GCX marks a new era for Ghana’s agriculture sector. Our goal is to build a transparent and technology-driven marketplace that benefits every stakeholder from smallholder farmers to large institutional buyers ensuring fair trade and improved livelihoods.”
The Ghana Commodity Exchange, known for fostering structured agricultural trading systems, believes this partnership will reinforce its mission to digitally enable market linkages. Ms. Evelyn Abakah, CEO of GCX, commented:
“By integrating Fauree’s digital capabilities with our national platform, we’re setting a new benchmark for inclusivity and efficiency in agricultural trade. This move will help farmers secure better prices and attract private sector investments.”
The initiative will initially cover key staple and export crops, with plans for nationwide expansion. Features like digital onboarding, e-KYC verification, crop financing, warehousing integration, and data-driven credit assessments will form the backbone of the system.
This partnership reflects a shared vision between Fauree and GCX to empower farmers, strengthen food security and create a sustainable, tech-enabled agricultural economy for Ghana and beyond.
