Fawad Alam to Quit International Cricket for Pakistan to Play for USA

Fawad Alam, an experienced Pakistani cricket player, has decided to end his international career with Pakistan and start a new chapter in the United States. At 37 years old, he will become a ‘local’ player for the Chicago Kingsmen in the Minor League Cricket T20.

This choice is similar to what other Pakistani players like Sami Aslam, Hammad Azam, Saif Badar, and Mohammad Mohsin have done – they also moved to the United States to pursue their cricket dreams.

In the past year, Alam played for Pakistan in three Test matches against Australia and one Test against Sri Lanka. He didn’t score a lot of runs in these matches and was not included in the Test squad after that.

Alam’s cricket journey has been a bit up and down. He started strong with a century on his Test debut in 2009, but he didn’t get many chances to play after that. He returned to the Pakistan team in 2020 during a tour to England.

In his time playing for Pakistan, Alam took part in 19 Test matches and scored a total of 1011 runs. He did well with five centuries and two fifties.
