Unless the Tax Form filed for the Tax year of relevant ATL specifies otherwise, a person’s name will be included in the current ATL. For example, to be included in the ATL released on March 1, 2021, a person should have submitted a tax form for the Tax Year 2020.

Additionally, to be included in the ATL issued on March 1, 2022, a person must have submitted a Tax Return again for the Tax year 2021 before publication.

It was made illegal to include an individual’s name on ATL if that individual has not submitted their tax return even by the deadline stipulated by the IRS. This restriction was implemented by the Finance Act of 2018.

By Section 102(1) of the Finance Act, 2019, a person’s name may be included in ATL even if the individual has submitted their Tax Return beyond the due deadline stipulated by the Income Tax authorities. The ATL is updated just the on Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) website on Mondays at 8:00 a.m.
