FBR has recovered Rs. 26.4 billion from Bahria Town (Private) Limited. This comes after a key decision by the Islamabad High Court in FBR’s favor.
The case had been under discussion for more than two years and went through several legal stages before the final verdict was announced. After a long legal battle, the court supported FBR’s claim, allowing them to collect the amount from Bahria Town.
This recovery is part of a bigger effort by the FBR to improve tax collection through legal channels. In total, FBR has now managed to recover Rs. 36.14 billion from different companies through recent court victories.
FBR officials see this as a big step forward in strengthening the rule of law and making sure that all major taxpayers follow tax rules. It also shows that even large and powerful companies can be held accountable under the law.
The Islamabad High Court’s ruling sets an important example for other ongoing cases. It gives confidence to the tax system and encourages honest business practices across the country.
The FBR is expected to continue this legal approach to recover more outstanding dues in the future. By using the courts, the government aims to ensure transparency, fairness, and discipline in the tax system.
This win not only boosts the national treasury but also highlights the growing strength of legal institutions in Pakistan.
