FBR Stops Charging additional Customs Duty on Car Imports

According to the official reports, the FBR (Federal Board of Revenue) eliminated additional customs duty (ADC) from July 1, 2021, on the import of cars, jeeps, & light-duty vehicles in CKD condition up to 1000cc & on the import of vehicles in CBU condition up to 850cc.

According to the issued SRO.904 (I)/2021 by FBR, the ADC would represent an indictment at the rate of 2 % on the import of cars, jeeps, & light commercial vehicles in CKD condition surpassing 1000cc.

The FBR has also amended regulatory duties on the import of following items:

  • The FBR has reduced 60 % regulatory duty on the import of wheat.
  • The FBR has cut regulatory duty on the import of pencils and crayons from 10 percent to 20 percent.
  • The regulatory duty on the import of Betel leaves starting from Rs. 600 per kg to Rs. 400 per kg has been abolished.
  • The regulatory duty on the import of olives has been slashed from 30 to 20 %.
  • Also, 5 % RD would apply on the import of metalized yarn, whether wrapped being textile yarn, or strip or the like of heading 54.04 or 54.05, together with metal in the form of thread, strip or powder or covered with metal.
  • The FBR has also reduced RD from 50 % to 40 % on the import of footwear with exterior soles of rubber, plastics, leather, or arrangement leather & uppers of textile materials & materials & other footwear.
  • The regulatory duty on the import of neutral glass tubing has been increased from 10 % to 20 %.
